Criminal Attorney Aine Ahmed

I cannot guarantee a win, but I guarantee a fight.

I grew up in apartment housing on the south side of Chicago and then on the other side of the tracks of Greensboro, North Carolina. While my more privileged fellow students at Wake Forest University enjoyed cocktail hour, I was digging water trench lines at the country club. I served in the U.S. Army and my deployments were always at the broken end of the bottle in the mud and the blood. I am a recipient of the Bronze Star and served with the 3D Armored Cavalry Regiment in Iraq between 2003 and 2004. I have real-life experiences, so I know how to talk to people, especially juries.

Most federal offenses carry a mandatory minimum sentence, so a lot is at stake. Federal offenses are rarely charged without substantial evidence. Nevertheless, sometimes the feds get it wrong—they are fallible. After working in federal court for over 20 years, I can tell you that the feds sometimes make mistakes. The U.S. Attorney’s Office relies on the evidence produced and gathered by federal agents and local police officers who are often assembled on task forces. These cases are sometimes defendable based on a lack of evidence and can be dismissed based on motions to suppress and government misconduct. Trust an attorney who knows what to look for to assess the weaknesses in the government’s case.
