Misdemeanors
Whether the charge involves simple battery, shoplifting, or another violation, such a conviction can have lasting effects on your life. Just like a felony, a misdemeanor conviction remains on your record. Any job requiring a license will inquire about your criminal history. This applies to roles such as law enforcement officers, physicians, teachers, or lawyers, where your background is scrutinized by potential employers or licensing bodies. A misdemeanor could also jeopardize your college admission prospects and influence your future. Certain offenses may even escalate to felony charges upon repeated convictions. Given the significant consequences at hand, I approach the review of misdemeanor charges with the same level of diligence as felony charges.
